Skills in coaching teams on outbound pipeline generation, discovery, consultative selling, and outcome alignment are essential. The ideal candidate is a data-driven operator who can forecast, manage to targets, and instill operational rigor, acting as an inspirational leader who balances accountability with development.
The Director, Sales will lead and scale a team of Account Executives focused on mid-market and early enterprise accounts. They will elevate sales conversations by coaching the team to uncover business challenges and align Customer.io to meaningful outcomes. Responsibilities include guiding strategic selling motions, developing and executing territory plans for pipeline creation and sustained growth, and leading outbound sales motion coaching. The role involves partnering cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales Development, and Partnerships, and coaching the team across the full sales cycle with an emphasis on discovery and solution design. Accurate forecasting and ensuring leadership visibility into pipeline health are key, as is hiring, onboarding, and developing exceptional talent to foster a culture of integrity, collaboration, and high performance.
