Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in life science, biology, business, or marketing, with an MBA being preferred. A proven track record of revenue generation in diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, or biotechnology is essential, along with at least 3 years of direct account management experience in molecular diagnostics, ideally with a focus on MRD testing. Experience working with major cancer centers, oncology GPOs, large health systems, and oncology practices is required. The role demands proven ability to sell integrated molecular diagnostic solutions and engage in consultative selling, with comfort in interacting with executive-level stakeholders. A deep understanding of the payer and reimbursement environment in oncology diagnostics, strong independent work ethic, excellent communication, project management, and prioritization skills are necessary. Knowledge of molecular diagnostics, MRD testing, and the oncology competitive landscape is crucial, as is proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and Salesforce.com. The ability to develop cross-functional relationships, advanced presentation skills, business acumen, and effectiveness with minimal direction are also required.

Responsibilities

The MRD Clinical Account Executive is responsible for driving the adoption of Tempus's MRD testing services within their assigned territory, targeting major U.S. cancer centers, health systems, and community practices. This includes engaging with Key Opinion Leaders, clinicians, and decision-makers to establish and expand business opportunities, and developing strategic plans for client acquisition and retention, including maximizing client-bill contracting. The role involves implementing laboratory services agreements (LSAs) for client billing, collaborating with other sales roles to achieve company goals, and identifying partnership opportunities to promote MRD testing integration. Feedback on market analysis and competitive landscape should be provided to leadership. A comprehensive business plan for the territory, encompassing budgets, travel, territory management, and goal setting, must be developed and implemented. The representative will also embody Tempus's company culture with integrity, respect, and trust.
