Responsibilities

  • Identify and analyze trends within the pathology industry
  • Gather market intelligence and monitor emerging technologies
  • Leverage knowledge to forge strategic partnerships yielding new business opportunities
  • Conduct high-quality, evidence-based business analyses
  • Manage the Open Innovation (OI)/Acquisition funnel, including IP license-in/out, product distribution deals, and investment deals
  • Conduct detailed financial modeling and analysis of business development opportunities, including valuation and financial statement analysis
  • Create and maintain Financial Return Models
  • Perform look-back analyses on past and future transactions
  • Develop a comprehensive approach for identification, evaluation, cultivation, and management of OI and acquisition initiatives
  • Assess strategic fit, conduct due diligence, construct business frameworks, create business cases with financial analytics, and negotiate terms and contractual agreements
  • Evaluate, structure, negotiate, and finalize external OI/Acquisition business opportunities
  • Translate promising scientific concepts into sustainable and profitable business models, collaborating across relevant discipline areas
  • Execute OI/Acquisition deals and oversee at least one year of integration
  • Demonstrate partnership value by generating impact as per the White Paper business case
  • Lead cross-functional due diligence efforts, applying understanding of technical, legal, financial, and market dynamics
  • Ensure strict compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Manage long-term, mutually beneficial partnership ecosystems to enhance extended R&D and manufacturing capabilities in China
