Area Sales Manager - Botanic Tonics

Salary: $55K - $65K Location Type: Remote Employment Type: FullTime

Position Overview

Botanic Tonics offers a unique perspective on well-being, focusing on kava products designed to bring you down to earth and into the present moment. We believe in engaging with the here and now to enrich lives and bring out our best selves. We are seeking a motivated and results-oriented Area Sales Manager to join our growing team. This is a field-based sales role focused on opening new retail accounts and driving sell-through of our innovative product, "feel free." You will be responsible for building and managing your territory, prospecting, pitching, and placing our brand in stores across your market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect and open new accounts in your market, with a focus on independently owned retailers.
  • Pitch and sell our plant-based energy supplement to new retail partners, educating them on its benefits, value proposition, and profit potential.
  • Build strong relationships with store owners, managers, and buyers to drive long-term partnerships and account growth.
  • Execute in-store marketing, including product education, placement, sampling, and merchandising to support sell-through.
  • Manage the sales and deliveries of product across your market’s business.
  • Track sales performance and maintain accurate records of visits, outcomes, and follow-ups using company systems.
  • Stay sharp on local market trends and competitor activity and adjust your sales strategy accordingly to maximize success.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in outside sales, field marketing, or route-based distribution is strongly preferred, especially in beverage, CPG, or related industries.
  • Proven ability to open new business accounts, particularly in independently owned retail environments (e.g., bodegas, convenience stores, gas stations).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills – able to confidently pitch and build rapport with store owners and decision-makers.
  • Self-starter mindset with high drive, hustle, and accountability – thrives in an independent role.
  • Solid territory management and organizational skills – able to plan routes, manage inventory, and follow up efficiently.
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. and restocking product when necessary.
  • Basic proficiency in using mobile apps, CRM tools, and spreadsheets to track sales activity and performance.
  • Passionate about being part of a fast-growing, disruptive brand.
  • Hustle, drive, and entrepreneurial energy – this role thrives on action.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
