Requirements

Candidates must have a minimum of 3-4 years of direct sales experience, with the ability to strategically plan and negotiate successful outcomes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with strong organizational abilities to manage promotional finances, make assortment recommendations, and forecast opportunities, risks, and new items. The role requires proficiency in managing sales forecasts within a 3.5% monthly error rate and superior finance and supply chain acumen as graded by Retailer and Abbott Scorecards. Approximately 25-30% travel is required.

Responsibilities

The Account Manager will manage Abbott Nutrition's full portfolio of products, including Similac, PediaSure, Pedialyte, Ensure, Protality, and Glucerna. Responsibilities include partnering with retailers and internal Abbott teams to develop joint business plans that achieve net sales and margin goals, acting as a subject matter expert for the retailer by understanding business/consumer behavior trends and key initiatives, and leading account communication on business and customer-specific priorities. The role involves assessing account performance against brand/customer priorities and quota attainment, proactively managing all account-specific and Abbott databases for accuracy, and leveraging analytics to provide insights for both the customer and Abbott. Additionally, the Account Manager will develop all sales presentations and customer content, achieve volume sales quotas within established trade funding parameters, and develop and implement short and long-term strategic and tactical business plans by business unit and category using syndicated data, customer POS sales data, and category management studies.
