Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, Engineering (especially Mechanical, Industrial, or Welding Engineering), or a related technical field
Technical Expertise in Welding Processes: Arc Welding (Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG), Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), Submerged Arc Welding (SAW))
Technical Expertise in Cutting Processes: Plasma Cutting, Oxy-Fuel Cutting, Laser Cutting
Technical Expertise in Robotic and Automated Welding: Understanding of automation principles and applications in welding
Technical Expertise in Welding Metallurgy: Basic knowledge
Dynamic sales person with ability to have tough conversations with executive levels of customers to facilitate change
Proven track record of strategic client partnerships that deliver measurable results
Hunter mentality, loves the challenge and the win
Works safely and meets requirements of all safety procedures and rules as prescribed by State, Federal, and the Company

Responsibilities

Manage and grow key client relationships as primary point of contact for strategic accounts
Drive revenue growth by understanding customer needs and providing comprehensive solutions across welding processes, industrial gases (including bulk and cylinder), and welding hard goods (equipment, consumables, safety gear)
Build Airgas' market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing metal fabrication business relationships
Identify business ideas and opportunities by researching industry and related events, publications, announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments
Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities
Actively pursue and acquire new and competitive accounts with emphasis on metal fabrication business and product sale agreements
Develop and negotiate contracts integrating requirements with business operations
Submit sales activity reports (via Salesforce), including weekly itineraries and other reports as requested, to the Regional President on a regular schedule
Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from various sources
Develop negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new business with company strategies and operations, examining all potential risk, and estimating customers’ needs and goals
Display or demonstrate products to customers and emphasize features
Act as liaison between customer and company with regard to pricing, products, delivery information, payments, service, and inquiries
Enhance organization's reputation by taking ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to customer experience
Complete and submit month-end reports, expense reports, mileage reports, etc., accurately and in a timely manner
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading industry publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
