Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, Engineering (especially Mechanical, Industrial, or Welding Engineering), or a related technical field
  • Technical Expertise in Welding Processes: Arc Welding (Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG), Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), Submerged Arc Welding (SAW))
  • Technical Expertise in Cutting Processes: Plasma Cutting, Oxy-Fuel Cutting, Laser Cutting
  • Technical Expertise in Robotic and Automated Welding: Understanding of automation principles and applications in welding
  • Technical Expertise in Welding Metallurgy: Basic knowledge
  • Dynamic sales person with ability to have tough conversations with executive levels of customers to facilitate change
  • Proven track record of strategic client partnerships that deliver measurable results

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow key client relationships as primary point of contact for strategic accounts
  • Drive revenue growth by understanding customer needs and providing comprehensive solutions across welding processes, industrial gases (including bulk and cylinder), and welding hard goods (equipment, consumables, safety gear)
  • Build Airgas' market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing metal fabrication business relationships
  • Identify business ideas and opportunities by researching industry and related events, publications, announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments
  • Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities
  • Actively pursue and acquire new and competitive accounts with emphasis on metal fabrication business and product sale agreements
  • Develop and negotiate contracts integrating requirements with business operations
  • Submit sales activity reports (via Salesforce), including weekly itineraries and other reports as requested, to the Regional President on a regular schedule
  • Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from various sources
  • Develop negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new business with company strategies and operations, examining all potential risk, and estimating customers’ needs and goals
  • Display or demonstrate products to customers and emphasize features
  • Act as liaison between customer and company with regard to pricing, products, delivery information, payments, service, and inquiries
  • Enhance organization's reputation by taking ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to customer experience
  • Complete and submit month-end reports, expense reports, mileage reports, etc., accurately and in a timely manner
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading industry publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
