Position Overview

Mento is seeking a driven and experienced sales professional to join our expanding sales team. This role is crucial for scaling our go-to-market function and will be instrumental in generating revenue and driving business development for Mento, a remote-first company focused on increasing human potential through coaching. You will be joining at an exciting inflection point as we validate traction in the mid-market and enterprise sectors and will play a key role in evolving our strategy for repeatable growth.

Responsibilities

  • Close Deals: Your primary responsibility is to move leads through the pipeline and close deals.
  • Generate Pipeline: Build pipeline with mid-market and enterprise accounts. While some demos will be booked onto your calendar, you will be responsible for proactive pipeline generation.
  • Attend and Host In-Person Events: Generate pipeline and foster relationships with leads by attending and hosting dinners, conferences, happy hours, and other events.
  • Foster Community within the HR Space: Establish yourself and Mento within the HR community by building lasting relationships, bringing people together, attending events, joining groups, and consistently creating value for others.
  • Contribute to Sales Strategy: Actively participate in evolving our approach to driving revenue, as Mento is a learning company with significant opportunities for improvement across sales strategy and processes.
  • Cross-functional Work: Engage in collaboration with Product and Coaching teams to share market insights, work with Marketing on top-of-funnel strategy, and effectively hand off accounts and identify upgrade opportunities with Partner Success.
  • Think Outside the Box: Get creative, test new techniques, explore new opportunities, and experiment with new practices to drive continuous improvement.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is passionate about advancing human potential and believes in the power of coaching. You are a hard worker who operates with empathy, understands the varied responsibilities in a startup environment, and is eager to roll up your sleeves and get the job done.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in mid-market and/or enterprise sales.
  • Experience selling into Human Resources/People departments or similar functional groups.
  • Proven experience with prospecting and pipeline generation, ideally in a lead generation role.
  • A high performer with standout performance in prior sales roles and a record of consistent quota attainment.
  • Self-identified as a hard worker, understanding the hustle required to succeed in early-stage startup environments.
  • A "hunter" mentality, enjoying the process of finding, nurturing, and winning deals.
  • Experience working within a modern Sales tech stack (e.g., AI tools, Hubspot, Sales Nav, Clay, Notion, Slack).
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, unstructured startup environment.
  • Strong communication skills, able to clearly articulate problems, constraints, rules, and timelines to both internal and external parties.
  • Resides in a main metro area with embedded networks in HR or adjacent industries that can be leveraged.
