Requirements

Candidates should possess a strategic mindset with a proven ability to identify commercial opportunities and think across business lines. A strong track record in sales, business development, or partnerships within the pharma, biotech, or medical device sectors is required, along with demonstrated success in exceeding growth targets in regulated healthcare markets. A deep understanding of prescribing pathways, HCP engagement, and market dynamics is essential, as are excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to influence at senior levels. Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation abilities are also necessary, along with comfort working autonomously and leading cross-functional collaboration. Experience in medicinal cannabis or emerging therapeutic areas, and understanding of TGA regulations, Authorised Prescriber pathways, and Special Access Schemes are desirable.

Responsibilities

The Strategic Partnerships & Commercial Lead will drive business development across Montu's network of medical cannabis clinics, identifying opportunities for growth and deeper collaboration. Responsibilities include developing partnerships with suppliers, Montu's Leafio and AlternaLeaf businesses, and potential cross-industry partners, as well as supporting corporate development initiatives and supplier relationships. The role involves prospecting, engaging, and converting partners from initial outreach through deal closure, negotiating agreements, driving partner-led revenue, and refining KPIs and sales alignment. Key duties also include owning strategic relationships with prescribing partners and clinics, collaborating with internal cross-functional teams, and tracking and reporting performance while ensuring compliance with TGA and regulatory frameworks.
