Candidates should have 12+ years of quota-carrying sales experience in competitive markets, focusing on consumption growth within accounts. Prior experience in Big Data, Consumption, Cloud, SaaS, Open Source, or Enterprise IT Solutions is required, along with previous sales methodology training (e.g., MEDDPICC, Challenger). A BS/BA degree or equivalent is preferred, and the ability to travel to customer locations as needed.
The Strategic Account Executive will drive revenue growth in large, complex national accounts by proactively prospecting, identifying, qualifying, developing, and closing sales opportunities. They will lead and execute complex sales cycles, demonstrating the business value of Confluent offerings to C-level executives. Responsibilities include becoming an expert on Confluent's products and the competitive landscape, understanding customer strategies to act as a trusted advisor, and collaborating with partner ecosystem teams, Solutions Engineering, Professional Services, and Customer Success Management to close expansion opportunities and renewals.
