We are seeking a Strategic Account Executive focused on the Energy & Utilities industry to drive net-new logo acquisition and build relationships with key stakeholders in these sectors. This role offers significant ownership of the full sales cycle, from lead identification to closing deals, and requires a consultative approach to understand and address customer needs with Cohere's platform. You will be instrumental in Cohere's growth, collaborating with cross-functional teams and influencing the product roadmap with customer insights. This is a highly self-directed role in a fast-paced, evolving environment with immense growth potential.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of previous B2B sales experience with Global 2000, large enterprises in the energy (oil & gas) and utility sectors.
  • Proven track record of negotiating and closing transformational multi-year (2-5 year) deals in the 7-figure range.
  • Demonstrated history of high performance and exceeding sales quotas.
  • Previous experience as a technical consultative salesperson, selling complex products such as developer tools, API products, or AI / NLP solutions, is a plus, particularly with applications in the energy (oil and gas) and utility sector.
  • Experience working with customers during the deployment phase, aligning on solution configuration and customization for production success.
  • Strong network of key decision-maker and influencer contacts in the energy (oil and gas) and utility industries.
  • Approachable and compelling communicator.
  • Ability to thrive in an unstructured and quickly evolving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full sales cycle, from initial outreach through proof-of-concept, deal close, and deployment, including ongoing oversight for customer success.
  • Focus on net-new logo acquisition via outbound activity and relationship building within the Energy (Oil & Gas) and Utility sectors.
  • Act as a consultative, trusted advisor to customers and prospects, deeply understanding their challenges, goals, and technology ecosystems.
  • Tailor solutions to drive measurable business impact for clients.
  • Partner closely with channel partners to scale outreach and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams, as well as customer success, on strategic motions to deliver solutions to large enterprise customers.
  • Work with Sales Development Representatives to drive top-of-funnel activity.
  • Act as the voice of the field, providing customer feedback to product and engineering teams to help prioritize the product roadmap.
