Requirements

  • Prefer 10 years' experience in the background of IVD, medical device, pharmaceuticals industry, private equity, investment banking or management consulting firm and understanding of the market dynamics and competitive landscape
  • Proven track record of negotiations, strategic thinking, solid business acumen, problem solving and execution for results
  • Capacity to analyze and communicate complicated issues and synthesize solutions in a fast-growing environment. Successfully influence senior level management, executives, and stakeholders at all levels. Possess a strong work ethic coupled to a metrics-driven approach to decision making
  • Acquisition experience in the analytical instrumentation is preferred
  • The successful candidate will possess as a minimum an analytical sciences undergraduate degree with an MBA or equivalent business experience

Responsibilities

  • Generate insights of IVD industrial trends, capture market intelligence, emerging technology to generate new business opportunities through partnership with strategic impact
  • Taking ownership of and conducting high quality, meaningful, evidence-based business analyses and OI/Acquisition funnel including IP license-in/out, Product distribution deal, investment deal
  • Accountable for evaluating, structuring, negotiating, and executing external Open Innovation/Acquisition business opportunities to translate good scientific ideas into sustainable, profitable business while working across all discipline areas that are of strategic interest to Beckman Coulter Dx
  • Develops identification, evaluation, cultivation, and management of Open Innovation and acquisition. Provides significant contributions including strategic fit, due diligence, structuring of business frameworks, business case and financial analytics, negotiation of terms and contractual agreements
  • Perform detailed financial modeling and analysis of business development opportunities including valuation and financial statement analysis. Create and maintain Financial Return Models and look-back analyses on previous and future transactions
  • Lead cross-functional due diligence efforts and applies understanding of technical, legal, financial and market dynamics which have bearing on final agreements. Ensures compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Execute OI/Acquisition deal with at least 1 year integration and generate the impact per White Paper business case to demonstrate the great values of the partnership
  • Manage long-term win-win partnership ecosystems to enhance our extended R&D and Manufacture capabilities in China
