A Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Management, or a related field, is strongly preferred. A strong work ethic, the ability to build relationships and rapport, and a winning attitude are essential. Prior experience in sales with Open Deck knowledge, including understanding trailer types, equipment needs, and Open Deck specifics, is critical for success in the role.
The Senior Open Deck Business Development Representative will leverage industry knowledge to provide logistics services and solutions, support current customers, and develop new business opportunities. Responsibilities include communicating with customers to assess and provide load information, budget, value, and strategic pricing. They will develop customized shipping solutions, manage day-to-day account operations, and implement strategic transportation plans. Collaboration with Client Success and Carrier Capacity teams is expected, as is becoming an expert in the business model, competitive advantages, and proprietary software. The role involves supporting and developing relationships with existing customers, growing their book of business, and proactively resolving customer, receiver, and driver issues. Pricing, quoting, industry research, planning, and needs assessment analysis will also be part of the duties.
