Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) sales or account management. Previous experience in broker management and account management at a National or Regional Account headquarters is required, along with strong communication and technical skills in office applications like Excel and PowerPoint. Proven negotiation success, the ability to meet travel requirements, and a willingness to relocate for future opportunities are also necessary. Candidates must reside within the East US Region, within one hour of a major airport, or within one hour of Orrville, OH. Experience with Joint Business Planning, center store (food), calling on National accounts, and proficiency in syndicated data sources like IRI/Nielsen are considered beneficial.
The Regional Sales Manager will serve as the Sales Account Manager for strategic East Region Grocery Accounts, managing sales goal delivery and customer Joint Business Plans. Key responsibilities include driving profitable sales growth and brand share for Smucker and its customers, developing and implementing plans to achieve sales and profit goals, and managing business development. The role involves monitoring sales execution with broker partners, leading negotiations for new items and key initiatives, and building collaborative relationships with internal cross-functional teams. Additionally, the manager will own the creation and execution of company and customer business plans, perform in-depth analysis of sales and profit components, manage trade budgets, and drive business process improvements.
