Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Typically Minimum 2 Years Relevant Experience
  • Preferred: B2B sales experience
  • Preferred: Cold calling sales experience
  • Preferred: Demonstrated successful performance in previous sales job
  • Substantial understanding of the job and ability to apply knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks
  • Ability to work on routine to moderately difficult assignments requiring some decision-making
  • Normally receives little instruction on daily work and general instructions on new assignments
  • Expert knowledge of the merchant payment industry
  • Advanced ability to be an effective problem solver and act quickly to resolve issues
  • Effective listener and communicator able to establish long-lasting customer relationships

Responsibilities

  • Sell merchant services offerings to businesses, including pricing, customer segmentation, customer presentations, account sign-up and activation, and account management
  • Answer inbound customer calls regarding product and service information and identify upselling opportunities
  • Accept orders, close sales, maintain customer records, and complete required documentation
  • Manage a portfolio of clients typically with an annual net revenue value of $200,000 or more
  • Identify revenue opportunities within assigned territories through communications with prospective clients, marketing programs, and other activities
  • Telephone prospects to identify appropriate contacts, qualify and drive leads through the sales pipeline
  • Ensure suspect identification, planning, account qualification, and needs analysis at all prospect levels
  • Respond to customer requests for information and give online presentations
  • Identify and close additional product and/or service sales with existing clients to develop client relationships
  • Manage client relationships and expectations during the sales cycle
  • Maintain existing/prospective client records in the CRM system (SalesForce.com), including call notes, scheduled interactions, contact information, and other relevant data
  • Keep management informed of all activity, including timely preparation of reports
  • Develop knowledge of current product/service portfolio as well as changes and developments within the payments industry
