Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree and have over 10 years of sales experience with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets, including at the HQ level. A minimum of 5 years of large sales team management and people management experience is required, along with a proven track record of inspiring teams to execute plans. Strong customer management skills, including the use of syndicated data sources like Nielsen or IRI, are essential. Experience with P&L management, category management, trade promotion management, pricing structures, and trade terms is necessary. Familiarity with key customers such as Kroger is also required. Additional desirable skills include broker management experience, previous cross-functional experience, strategic thinking abilities, leadership/executive presence, self-motivation, adaptability to change, and excellent communication skills.
The Director, Sales-Kroger will be responsible for delivering profitable sales growth by building and executing annual customer business plans and achieving or exceeding net sales targets. This role requires an understanding of the omnichannel marketplace and the ability to utilize syndicated data sources to inform strategic and tactical plans. The Director will manage KPI and trade budget effectively, ensure monthly and quarterly sales forecast accuracy, and communicate business performance and needs. They will also be responsible for developing a team of sales employees, managing direct reports and cross-functional field support teams to maximize effectiveness, and ensuring training, tools, and processes align with go-to-market strategies. The role involves managing customer P&Ls, driving the business planning process with cross-functional partners, and empowering teams to lead initiatives. Building and maintaining relationships with retail partners, developing strategies to drive category and brand growth for the retailer, and managing Joint Business Planning with key stakeholders are also key responsibilities.
