Candidates should possess 8+ years of sales experience, with at least 5 years specifically focused on the public sector, particularly with cooperative contracts or similar solutions. They should have a proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales goals, along with strong skills in developing and presenting programs to leaders of public agencies. Demonstrated experience in working with brand image and promoting value through customer experience is also required, alongside the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Experience with CRM software, such as Salesforce, is preferred, and familiarity with public procurement processes, policies, and regulations is essential.
The Contractor, Public Sector SLED Sales role involves growing cooperative contract revenue across new and existing SLED participating agencies, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the public sector, and working with government agencies to sell cooperative contracts that offer best value and efficiency. This position requires building and maintaining long-term relationships with key decision-makers and influencers, driving the sales cycle to completion, and establishing relationships with senior leadership at participating agencies. Furthermore, the role encompasses generating new business opportunities and upsell revenue across existing members, as well as being willing to be onsite with stakeholders and customers up to 50% of the time.
