Workday Associate Engagement Manager

Position Overview
The Workday Associate Engagement Manager is a project manager responsible for supporting client, company, and team accomplishments. This role involves hands-on support of key project deliverables such as charters, project/staffing plans, and issue logs, while actively driving client engagement. The Associate Engagement Manager will also communicate and address any budget or resourcing constraints, ensuring project success and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Become an expert in Workday's Implementation Methodology and apply it to all engagements.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Workday product suite, including HCM, Payroll, and/or Financials.
- Ensure projects are properly planned and staffed.
- Provide support to Engagement and Senior Engagement Managers on larger projects.
- Collaborate with the client project manager to identify and resolve issues that could impact project scope and/or timeframes.
- Ensure projects are delivered within the budget outlined in the Statement of Work (SOW).
- Work with Delivery Assurance to ensure compliance with agreed-upon checkpoints.
- Assist in the transition of the client from professional services to product support.
- Ensure the client can serve as a reference upon completing their implementation.
- Track issues and risks, communicate status, and escalate concerns regarding applications.
- Present at Executive Steering Committee meetings.
- Identify and escalate change orders when clients request tasks outside the SOW.
- Participate in the sales cycle as requested to gather requirements, formulate delivery approaches, and develop proposals/SOWs.
Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
- Previous Workday experience is strongly preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of Internet technology and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
- A practitioner background in HR, Finance, or Payroll.
- PMP certification is strongly desired.
Salary and Other Compensation
- Application Deadline: October 22, 2025
- Annual Salary: $75,800 - $95,865 (depending on experience and qualifications)
- Incentive Program: Eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to applicable plan terms.
