The Setup Ops team is responsible for getting new customers to their first payroll run with Check’s partner businesses, playing a critical role in partner growth. This role requires a self-starter with a passion for payroll and a commitment to operational efficiency and excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of payroll implementation or account management experience.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and systems.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and a high degree of ownership.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent customer service skills (via tickets, email, and phone/video).
  • Detail-oriented and committed to high quality.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple setup projects (payroll implementations) concurrently across various partner businesses and previous payroll systems.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of projects, maintaining a high quality standard.
  • Collaborate with the team to create and improve processes, documentation, and tooling.
  • Provide customer service to both partner businesses building on Check and companies undergoing onboarding.
  • Drive operational efficiency, meeting Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Assist outsourcing teams and customers with complex payroll scenarios.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with outsourcing partners, overseeing setup projects to successful completion.
