Position Overview

SweedPos, a product-driven startup building an all-in-one cannabis retail platform, is seeking a motivated Account Manager to join our remote team. This role is crucial in building a scalable, proactive Account Management function and will be part of the early foundation of our evolving Customer Success organization. You will help define what great customer experience looks like and directly impact it.

Team Structure

Our total team size is approximately 200 people.

  • Development Team: Globally distributed, organized into cross-functional product teams (8-12 members each) including front-end/back-end developers, QA specialists, and analysts. Each team is led by a Team Lead and Product Owner.
  • US-Based Team: CEO, Account Managers, and Customer Success team are based in the USA, collaborating closely with the development teams to align product development with business and user needs.

About the Role

As an Account Manager at Sweed, you will be instrumental in the success of our clients and our business. You will act as a relationship manager, drive upsells, assist with onboarding, consult on industry best practices, and proactively identify and address churn risks. This role is perfect for individuals who excel in startup environments, enjoy building relationships, and are passionate about supporting clients.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a growing book of business and serve as the primary point of contact outside of the Support team.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Support, Implementation, Product, and Sales to ensure smooth client transitions and clear expectations.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand revenue through upselling new services or products.
  • Gather feature request requirements and drive adoption of new features.
  • Act as the voice of the customer to influence product development and roadmaps.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and documentation.
  • Assist in launching shops on-site as needed.

Requirements & Skills

Professional Skills:

  • Proven experience in building customer relationships, retention, sales, training, and platform support.
  • Comfortable working with cannabis operators and understanding their unique operational needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large book of business with excellent organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and cannabis retail operations (including inventory, compliance, METRC, etc.).
  • A systems-thinking mindset – a proactive approach to improving processes.
  • Proficiency with various software tools (e.g., Hubspot, JIRA, ClickUp, Slack, Notion, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills, both internally and with clients.
