Candidates must have 100% US geographic mobility and extensive hands-on automotive dealership service department or equivalent vehicle diagnostic and repair experience. A valid driver's license, clean driving record, and proficiency in MS Office applications are required. State Automotive Technician Certifications are necessary, and candidates must be able to manage, resolve, document, and close dispatch cases within the required timeframe. Excellent communication and time management skills are essential.
The Field Service Engineer will provide remote and on-site automotive, business, and computer technical support to GM's retail and wholesale communities, acting as the main point of contact for Cadillac CELESTIQ technicians. Responsibilities include providing diagnostic and repair direction, coordinating support, traveling as needed, and offering support for executive cases. The role involves creating Field Product Reports, providing third-level support for technical and Techline issues, reviewing technical service bulletins, taking ownership of dealer concerns, and facilitating dealer visits with engineering teams. Additionally, the engineer will develop relationships with GM management and engineering, represent GM as a primary resource for product information, provide feedback to quality managers and engineering, and suggest warranty waste reduction improvements.
