Candidates should possess an Associate's degree or higher in computer technology, E/E, Automation, biology, or chemistry. A minimum of two years of experience in bioprocess automation, cell culture, fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, or related techniques is desired. Experience with Delta V or other control software, the ability to read and redline schematics and drawings, and customer-facing experience are considered a plus. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, PC hardware, and desktop applications is required, along with excellent oral and written English skills. The role also requires the ability to lift 40 lbs. without assistance and willingness to travel extensively.
The Field Service Engineer II will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing Thermo Fisher hardware and automation products, including performing compliance services. They will lead commissioning and qualification of equipment by completing SAT and IQ/OQ Protocols, and act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding service contract agreements. Responsibilities include providing remote support, improving customer experience by identifying and recommending process improvements, and supporting smaller project installations from readiness coordination to validation execution. The engineer will also support product quality improvement by raising concerns to the Quality team and leading team performance metrics by ensuring timely customer response and problem resolution.
