Requirements

  • 3–6 years of dev experience (React, Python, or similar stack)
  • A love for organization, clarity, and clean handoffs
  • Experience doing QA, ticket grooming, or sprint planning
  • Comfort wearing multiple hats and working with many departments
  • Strong communication and task management instincts

Responsibilities

  • Keep the backlog clean, scoped, and prioritized
  • Help define sprint goals and ensure tasks are realistically sized
  • Work with the senior developer to plan, assign, and track work
  • Translate stakeholder requests into clear action items
  • QA features before launch and coordinate testing
  • Log bugs, verify fixes, and handle regressions quickly
  • Keep track of what’s released, what’s blocked, and what’s broken
  • Jump into frontend/backend/scripting to fix bugs or ship small features
  • Prototype internal tools or scrape/transform data for business use
  • Review and support pull requests as needed
  • Field incoming requests from sales, editorial, subscriptions, and marketing
  • Ensure everyone knows what’s being worked on and what’s next
  • Maintain documentation and sprint updates
