Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in building distributed system architecture from conception to production. Proficiency in Python and SQL or SparkSQL is essential. Experience with various data engineering components is required, including data stores like ClickHouse, ElasticSearch, Postgres, Redis, and Neo4j; data pipeline tools such as Airflow, DBT, Luigi, Azkaban, or Storm; data processing and streaming technologies like Spark, Kafka, or Flink; and deployment/monitoring infrastructure in public cloud platforms including Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Datadog.
The Engineering Manager will lead and develop a team of engineers, providing coaching, technical mentorship, and hands-on leadership. They will ensure the quality and delivery of the team's work, manage the performance of critical services, and drive projects based on measurable outcomes and KPIs. Responsibilities include encouraging best practices in design and usability, resolving operational escalations, collaborating with management and product teams on roadmap planning, building reliable data services for blockchain integration, developing real-time ETL pipelines for petabyte-scale data, designing optimal data models for sub-second latency queries, and deploying/monitoring large, performant database clusters. The manager will also work cross-functionally with data scientists, backend engineers, and product managers to implement new data models.
