Requirements

2+ years of experience managing or leading a team of technical professionals, preferably in a release management capacity
5+ years of experience in release management, software development, or a related role
Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and release management principles
Strong understanding of CI/CD concepts and tooling
Demonstrated experience in building, mentoring, and scaling a team of engineers or technical managers
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership, engineering VPs, and cross-functional teams
Experience in establishing and monitoring key metrics (e.g., release predictability, lead time, deployment frequency) to drive data-informed decisions and improvements
Proficiency with project management and ticketing systems, particularly using Jira for advanced reporting and process tracking

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and empower a team of Technical Release Managers, fostering a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and excellence
Define and execute the strategic roadmap for the Release Operations team, ensuring it aligns with company-wide goals
Serve as the primary point of contact for release-related issues and escalations, working with senior stakeholders to resolve challenges and mitigate risks
Drive the evolution of our release processes and tooling, championing initiatives that improve efficiency, quality, and predictability
Establish and maintain a robust set of release metrics and reporting dashboards to provide clear visibility into the health and performance of our delivery pipeline
Oversee the high-level management of release-related risks and major incidents
