Candidates should possess 7+ years of software engineer and/or sales engineer management experience in SaaS, Open Source, or Enterprise Software companies, with a solid understanding of cloud computing trends and open source business models. Strong communication and listening skills are essential, as is the ability to confidently lead discussions with Product Managers, Engineers, and Executives. Bonus points include experience with Docker/Kubernetes and other cloud native platforms, along with fluency in Linux operating systems and familiarity with APIs and CD/CI automation frameworks pipelines.
The Staff Solutions Engineer will support field sales in helping customers understand the value of the Kong API/Connectivity Management platform, grow trusted client relationships throughout the sales lifecycle, and provide support for Proof of Concepts. They will also ensure 100% customer satisfaction across assigned accounts, prioritize customer needs, coordinate with internal teams, and create technical documentation for DevOps, implementations, and services engagements, as well as perform any additional tasks required by their manager.
