Demonstrable experience working with key clinical and research accounts in Houston is required, as is at least 5 years of proven life science capital sales experience. Success in highly collaborative team settings, independent lead generation, prospecting, business development, consultative and strategic selling, and driving complex sales within multi-layered environments is necessary. Experience winning/growing business and establishing long-term customer relationships within Texas healthcare organizations is essential. Candidates should be highly motivated with a strong drive to deliver exceptional results, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with adaptability to change, and possess an understanding of next generation sequencing (NGS).
The Senior Healthcare Territory Account Manager will be responsible for achieving territory sales objectives and growth targets by developing and implementing strategic and tactical sales plans, and adjusting them as needed to meet changing company and customer requirements. This includes accurately forecasting sales projections, managing the sales pipeline, and proactively utilizing and maintaining the CRM database. The role involves delivering technical/scientific seminars and presentations on Illumina products and solutions, demonstrating their relevance, and providing consultation to customers. Managers will engage in a collaborative sales process by demonstrating scientific knowledge, monitoring market trends and customer needs to identify new opportunities, and effectively collaborating cross-functionally to achieve goals and meet customer needs. Responsibilities also include navigating and managing multi-tiered sales processes for capital equipment, consumables, and services, matching customer business objectives to Illumina capabilities, prospecting for new leads, actively managing existing accounts, expanding the customer base, and developing strong customer connections at various organizational levels. Continuous learning of new applications and growth opportunities for Illumina's offerings is expected, along with effectively handling interpersonal challenges and maintaining focus on the customer, demonstrating a win-win approach in negotiations.
