The Senior Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) for Production Chemicals & Services (PCS) is a key role within the Biologicals and Chemicals Division sales organization of the BioProduction Group. This technical position focuses on building strategic customer relationships to drive near-term revenue growth and identify new opportunities, fostering a strong pipeline for future organic growth. The ideal candidate will leverage extensive sales experience, bioproduction process knowledge, product expertise, market intelligence, and territory leadership skills to increase sales and profitability.

Territory: Central Region, EMEA (with a focus on Germany, Switzerland, and Austria)

Responsibilities

  • Discover new opportunities and utilize the product portfolio and service offerings to build a foundation for long-term growth.
  • Drive existing opportunities to reduce the time to order.
  • Apply intelligence-based prospecting to identify new potential opportunities.
  • Effectively use Salesforce for pipeline, bookings, and revenue analysis to understand territory trends, forecast territory health, and proactively identify growth areas for recurring and new business revenue.
  • Build and maintain an Opportunity Pipeline to ensure accurate revenue forecasting.
  • Leverage Salesforce Tools and procedures per established workflows.
  • Collaborate with and influence Bioproduction Account Managers (BAMs) and Field Application Specialists (FAS) within the region to develop and lead account growth strategies.
  • Experience in working with channel sales is beneficial.
  • Establish and build relationships with key decision-makers and identify technical buyers.
  • Assist BAMs within the assigned territory with sales and account planning efforts to achieve sales goals, including value proposition development across the broad BCD portfolio.
  • Aid in the development of technical solution-matching for complex opportunities.
  • Attend technical collaboration visits to Business Unit manufacturing and R&D sites.
  • Provide post-sales product support, follow up on all product performance complaints or inquiries to ensure resolution and improve the customer experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, with a required background in a life-science related field such as Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Engineering.
  • 5+ years of sales experience in a role related to the bioproduction process.
  • Daily utilization of Salesforce to track Sales Activity, Opportunities, and Leads.
  • Ability to fulfill customer-facing visits on a regular basis, targeting 60% travel.
  • Demonstrates good judgment and tact with all internal and external customers, with a bias for improving the overall customer experience.
  • Must possess a strong understanding of customer challenges and solution development.
