Candidates should have five or more years of enterprise sales experience, preferably in network performance management solutions, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, with an MS degree being preferred. An expert-level understanding of communications networking operations and broad knowledge of networking technologies, engineering guidelines, industry best practices, and market solutions is ideal, with CCNP or CCIE certification being a plus. The role requires the ability to research and demonstrate solutions ROI, a positive can-do attitude, and strong teamwork, reliability, trustworthiness, and intelligence. Excellent relationship-building, creative technical consultative selling, and outstanding written and oral communication and presentation skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively in a virtual team environment.
The Sales Engineer will engage with end customers and channel partners to understand market and technical opportunities, supporting go-to-market strategies. Responsibilities include participating in pre-sales engineering tasks such as customer demonstrations and evaluations, and post-sales support including product turn-up, training, and inquiries. The role involves assisting partners in defining customer technical business problems, developing best practices for refining technical requirements, and articulating the benefits of LiveAction solutions against competitors. Sales Engineers will also support proposal development, build partner competencies, develop proof-of-concept and demonstration skills within partners, and contribute to software development engineering tasks by providing customer feedback, defining requirements, participating in beta testing, and reviewing documentation. Additionally, they will support the development of marketing product promotion collateral, maintain positive customer relationships, log progress using Salesforce.com, and participate in industry events and tradeshows.
