About Ledger Investing

Ledger is a Y Combinator-backed Insurtech startup transforming how insurance risk is financed. Ledger is building a marketplace that enables re/insurers to transfer risk to capital markets investors – we have originated over $2 billion of premium volume to institutional investors. Insurance securitization is on the path to becoming a $100 billion market but has been limited by opacity and complexity. Ledger is expanding this market by building a seamless data platform that powers the marketplace, as well as reports and analytics that insurers and investors need to transact. Our $75 million Series B investment funding has successfully set us up for long-term growth.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced product manager to lead and scale a suite of B2B software products with full P&L responsibility. Our suite of insuretech products serves the emerging insurance securitization market that connects insurance risk to institutional capital. The products are designed to leverage a data pipeline with an overlay of analytics and AI/LLM features, providing unprecedented transparency and standardization for insurers and institutional investors in a historically opaque industry.

This position will report to the CEO. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing new B2B product offerings, bringing them to market, and achieving scale in a tech startup environment. The role is based in the US and is fully remote/home office based.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement business strategies to achieve ambitious growth and profitability targets.
  • Manage key profit and loss (P&L) accounts, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure financial health and operational efficiency.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring processes are efficient and aligned with business objectives.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to streamline operations, enhance product offerings, and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and drive initiatives that position Ledger as a leader in its space.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions.
  • Innovate and refine offerings to meet market demands and pursue new market opportunities.
  • Forge and manage strategic relationships with key partners, customers, and stakeholders to expand Ledger’s market presence.
  • Represent Ledger at industry events and conferences to build brand awareness and establish thought leadership.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing multi-disciplinary team, including engineering, design, marketing, and business development, as the products scale.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.

Key Background Requirements

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in B2B software product management roles.
  • Proven track record in scaling businesses, driving revenue growth, and achieving financial targets in a start-up environment.
  • Strong understanding of B2B software product revenue models.
  • Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following industries: SaaS, Fintech, or Insuretech.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or similar discipline.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong strategic planning, financial acumen, and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to inspire teams and present effectively to stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a results-driven and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Expertise in product development and innovation, with a focus on customer-centric solutions.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity in a fully-remote work environment.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Deep understanding of insurance, finance, and/or the capital markets.
  • MBA or similar advanced degree.

Ledger Investing

Investment platform for insurance-linked securities

About Ledger Investing

Ledger Investing operates in the insurance-linked securities (ILS) market, providing a platform for qualified investors to invest in securities tied to insurance risks. These investors typically include institutional buyers like banks, hedge funds, and pension funds. The company focuses on private placements of securities, which are sold directly to investors rather than through public exchanges, allowing for unique investment opportunities not found in traditional markets. However, these investments come with a high level of risk and potential for significant losses. Ledger Investing facilitates transactions between insurers and investors, offering tools and information to help investors make informed decisions without providing specific investment recommendations. The investments are considered risky and illiquid, making them suitable only for those who can afford to lose their entire investment and do not require quick access to cash.
