Bridgit is a female-founded, Canadian SaaS company disrupting the construction industry, which is facing a severe labor shortage. Bridgit is the category leader for workforce planning, working with large US general contractors. This role is for a Principal Product Designer to shape the future of Bridgit's product ecosystem, drive cohesive experiences, elevate design excellence, and define the long-term product design vision for Bridgit Bench. You will be part of a cross-functional squad with a product manager and engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the design vision and contribute to company-wide product strategy, connecting design excellence with business impact.
  • Act as the primary designer on a squad, architecting end-to-end experiences across the product for coherence and user delight.
  • Lead research efforts to deeply understand customer pain points and translate insights into strategic product opportunities.
  • Design scalable, modular solutions that balance innovation with usability across the product and use cases.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to ensure technically feasible, high-quality execution of complex design solutions.
  • Apply behavioral analytics and experimentation to inform and refine designs, tying work back to measurable outcomes.
  • Support the evolution of Bridgit’s design system, maintaining visual harmony, interaction consistency, and efficiency.
  • Uplift the design team through mentorship, design critiques, and by modeling best practices.
  • Stay ahead of design trends and emerging technologies, including AI, to continuously elevate work.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience designing web-based SaaS products.
  • A portfolio showcasing the ability to deliver elegant, scalable solutions in complex environments.
  • Visionary systems thinking ability to connect strategy with execution.
  • Deep user-centered approach with a strong research mindset.
  • Ability to translate complex challenges into intuitive experiences.
  • Fluency in data-informed design, using quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • Confidence navigating ambiguity and making decisions with incomplete information.
  • Strong command of responsive design, accessibility, interaction patterns, and visual design principles.
  • Exceptional communication skills for stakeholder alignment, collaboration, and consensus building.
  • Collaborative leadership skills to uplift others and promote design excellence.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, cross-functional environments, balancing strategic thinking with executional speed.
  • Mindset of continuous learning and improvement.
