Position Overview

At Atlan, we're building the future of data collaboration — and we need an exceptional People Ops Coordinator to help us scale with excellence.

You’ll be the operational backbone of the People team: coordinating employee lifecycle processes, maintaining clean HR data, and ensuring teammates get the right support at the right time. You’ll work mid-shift hours to collaborate with our global People and Talent teams, and bring empathy, rigor, and follow-through to every touchpoint.

We're an AI-native team — we use tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Zapier to reduce busywork and move fast. We expect you to experiment and build with them too.

While we are remote-first, preferred geography is Bangalore, to have occasional in-person collaboration with our local team. This role requires East Coast business hours (5:30pm - 2:30am IST) to enable collaboration across our global teams in EMEA, India, and the US.

What you’ll do

  • Own backend coordination of onboarding, offboarding, and internal changes across global regions
  • Maintain clean, up-to-date records in our HRIS and documentation systems
  • Support lifecycle events such as confirmations, exits, letters, system access, and compliance
  • Partner with Talent and IT to ensure smooth transitions between stages of the employee journey
  • Identify and fix small process glitches before they become big ones
  • Use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Sheets + Zapier) to reduce manual work, automate routine tasks, and improve team velocity

What you’ll bring

  • At least 2 years of experience in People Ops, HR coordination, or a related operations role
  • Experience supporting HR or employee-facing workflows (vs. Talent Ops)
  • A knack for systems thinking: you love untangling messy processes and building smarter ones
  • Detail-obsessed: you catch what others miss and don’t drop balls
  • Strong async communication and ownership mindset
  • A mindset geared toward scale: you’re always asking, “Will this still work when we’re twice the size?”
  • Comfort with tools like Google Sheets, Slack, and HR systems; bonus for HiBob, Ashby, ATS, Zapier, or other AI tools
  • Curiosity and fluency with AI tools — you use them not just for formatting, but for thinking, writing, and building
  • Based in India, with a preference for Bangalore (to occasionally collaborate in person with our HR team)
  • Experience supporting HR or employee lifecycle workflows in distributed, cross-timezone teams
