Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field. A minimum of 4 years of experience in employee relations or as an HR generalist, with a strong focus on conflict resolution and investigations, is required. Preferred certifications include SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR. Strong knowledge of employment laws such as FMLA, ADA, Title VII, and FLSA, along with excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills, is essential. Demonstrated ability to conduct sensitive investigations with professionalism and discretion, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are also necessary. High integrity and confidentiality are crucial, and experience with Workday and Google Suite is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

The Employee Relations Specialist will serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, offering guidance on policies, conflict resolution, and performance concerns. This role involves conducting prompt, thorough, and objective investigations into workplace complaints, including harassment, discrimination, and policy violations. Accurate documentation of employee relations issues and maintenance of confidential records are key duties. The specialist will advise managers and supervisors on performance management, disciplinary actions, and terminations to ensure fair and consistent policy application. Analyzing ER trends and metrics to develop proactive strategies for improving employee engagement and retention, collaborating with HR, Legal, and Compliance teams to ensure consistent interpretation and application of employment laws and policies, and assisting with the development and delivery of employee relations training for managers and staff are also core responsibilities.
