Requirements

Candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED, and a minimum of two years of supervisory or management experience, or participation in Republic Services’ management trainee program. They should demonstrate business acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to execute against formulated strategy, along with demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills, and the ability to optimize near-term results that contribute to long-term sustainable success.

Responsibilities

The Operations Manager - Hauling will manage collections activities for commercial, industrial, and residential customers, as well as container delivery and pick up, overseeing a team of Operations Supervisors, Dispatchers, Operations Clerks, Drivers, and Helpers. They will implement and execute plans to complement the business unit’s strategic and operating plan, ensure maximum productivity and route management systems, interact with customers and government employees to resolve concerns, oversee effective safety and accident prevention programs, ensure regulatory compliance standards are met, approve expenses and manage the operations department budget, and develop a best-in-class team and workplace culture while championing change management initiatives.
