Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, or a related field, with instructional design certifications being a plus. A minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in designing and developing instructional content is required, along with strong experience applying instructional design methodologies like ADDIE and SAM. Proven success in creating content for multiple delivery formats, experience managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines, and demonstrated cross-functional collaboration skills are essential. Familiarity with regulated industries or life sciences, and exposure to pharmaceutical industry training are considered advantageous. Technical proficiency in Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Creative Suite (PowerPoint, InDesign, Illustrator), Microsoft Word, Visio, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and Content Management Solutions (CMS) is necessary. Familiarity with video creation tools and virtual platforms, as well as the ability to quickly learn technical products, is also required. Excellent verbal and written communication, strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, and comfort with feedback are crucial soft skills. Experience designing global training programs and knowledge of rapid training development processes and agile methodologies are preferred.
The Instructional Designer is responsible for building and maintaining a role-based curriculum of instructor-led, web-based, and eLearning courses to meet customer training needs. This includes all aspects of course development, from needs analysis and design to content development, beta testing, and rollout. The role involves gathering training requirements, coordinating content production, and collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs), product teams, project managers, and cross-functional partners. Responsibilities include designing curricula for product, project, and protocol-specific training deliverables, validating content accuracy with SMEs, and managing the lifecycle of training assets. The Instructional Designer will work with product management and engineering teams to ensure new features are reflected in training content and contribute to consistent processes for new product launches and updates. Additionally, the role supports the Manager, Client Education, in developing and refining customer training processes and best practices, and supporting the onboarding and continuous training of internal staff regarding training delivery procedures.
