Kalshi has pioneered a new category: prediction markets, allowing users to trade on the outcomes of future events. We are the fastest-growing financial market in America, offering over 1,900 markets across various sectors. Our vision is to build the largest financial market globally, driven by our mission to bring more truth to the world through markets. We foster a culture of hard work, ambition, and enjoyment of the journey.

About Kalshi

Kalshi is the first and only federally regulated exchange where individuals can trade on any event, akin to the NYSE but for event-based contracts. Following years of regulatory efforts, Kalshi received historic approval from the CFTC, launching event contracts – simple yes/no financial instruments about future events. In 2024, Kalshi Klear was approved as a Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO), managing all clearing activities for its exchange members. We are seeking passionate and exceptional individuals to join us in shaping the future of financial markets.

Role Roadmap: Financial Operations

As an early member of Kalshi's Finance team, you will support our diverse clientele, including retail customers, market makers, hedge funds, and institutional traders. The Financial Operations team is crucial for accurately accounting for all funds moving through the Exchange, the Clearing Organization, and associated systems. This role offers significant growth potential as the company scales.

Responsibilities

You will play a pivotal role in managing the flow of funds within our organization. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Transaction Monitoring: Oversee a high volume of financial transactions, tracking money inflows and outflows from various sources.
  • Daily Snapshot: Generate daily reports to provide a snapshot of financial activity, ensuring accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Operational Excellence: Continuously monitor and optimize financial processes to guarantee smooth operations and adherence to financial regulations.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement. Provide valuable insights to support decision-making.
  • Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and industry standards. Stay updated on changes in financial regulations that may impact our operations.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align financial goals and achieve operational excellence.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Ideally 3+ years of experience post-graduation.
  • Proven experience in a financial exchange, clearing organization, or payment processing company with a high transaction volume.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards, particularly those specific to financial exchanges and clearing organizations.

Regulated exchange for event contracts trading

About Kalshi

Kalshi operates as a regulated exchange where traders can speculate on the outcomes of various events through a unique product called 'event contracts.' These contracts allow investors to bet on whether specific future events will happen, such as changes in Covid-19 statistics or legislative decisions in Congress. The platform expands the traditional futures market by addressing new economic risks, making it accessible to both individual investors and institutional traders who want to hedge or speculate on significant events. Kalshi earns revenue by charging transaction fees on trades made on its platform. What sets Kalshi apart from its competitors is its regulatory approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), which allows it to offer this new asset class in a compliant manner.
