Director of Sales Insights & Analytics

Salary: $170K - $180K Location Type: Remote Employment Type: Full-Time

Company Overview

At Botanic Tonics, we understand the challenges of a fast-paced, distracting world that can leave individuals feeling overwhelmed. We offer kava products with natural active ingredients designed to ground you in the present moment, enabling you to fully engage with life. Our philosophy encourages embracing the here and now, leading to a more fulfilling and enriched experience.

Position Overview

Botanic Tonics is seeking a forward-thinking, business-savvy Director of Sales Insights & Analytics to lead the transformation of raw data into strategic foresight. This pivotal role will serve as a trusted advisor to the Chief Sales Officer (CSO) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), proactively identifying trends, opportunities, and risks to shape the company's growth strategy. This position is focused on anticipating future outcomes rather than simply reporting past performance, directly impacting high-level decisions and long-term planning.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Insight & Foresight

  • Proactively monitor internal and external sales data to anticipate market shifts, customer behavior trends, and emerging business opportunities.
  • Deliver insights that shape sales strategy, drive commercial decision-making, and influence executive-level conversations.
  • Build data narratives that connect current performance to future strategy.
  • Identify relevant industry trends and emerging market opportunities for the National Account Sales Team to leverage for business development, customer engagement, and account expansion.
  • Generate trade-ready insights and milestones for the Communications and Marketing teams to enhance brand credibility and retail influence.

Sales Analytics & Reporting

  • Own the development of high-impact dashboards, scorecards, and reports to illuminate sales performance across all channels for leadership.
  • Analyze sell-in and sell-through trends, customer data, and competitive performance to drive revenue growth and optimize channel mix.

Executive Support & Communication

  • Partner directly with the CSO and CEO to deliver strategic insights informing company direction, board-level updates, and investor conversations.
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable narratives tailored for executive stakeholders.

Forecasting & Planning

  • Lead and refine sales forecasting models in collaboration with the CSO and CEO, ensuring accurate visibility into future revenue.
  • Identify pipeline risks and opportunities before they impact results.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as the analytical engine across Sales, Marketing, and Finance, connecting performance, customer behavior, and product mix.
  • Influence go-to-market decisions and support new market development through data-driven insights.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in Sales Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Strategic Insights, preferably within the FMCG sector and the C-store channel.
  • Proven ability to anticipate trends and provide strategic insights that shape high-level decisions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Must have experience with Power BI.
  • Deep experience working with syndicated data sources (IRI, Nielsen, SPINS, Circana) and retailer POS tools.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to bridge analytics and executive decision-making.
