Customer Success Engineer (CSE)

Position Overview

Cribl is a rapidly growing, remote-first company seeking collaborative, curious, and motivated team members who are passionate about putting customers first. As the data engine for IT and Security, Cribl solves pressing data needs for many of the biggest names in demanding industries.

The Customer Success Engineer (CSE) acts as a trusted, strategic, and technical advisor to customers, ensuring they achieve their desired outcomes and realize value from Cribl solutions. This highly technical role requires coordination and strategizing across multiple functions to enable customers' continuous value realization. The CSE will engage with various technical and management functions within customer organizations and articulate Cribl's value in business discussions with company executives.

Responsibilities

As an active member of the team, you will:

  • Act as a trusted, strategic, and technical advisor to customers, driving the entire Customer Success lifecycle from onboarding to expansion.
  • Serve as the trusted engineer and Cribl product expert as customers build out their observability platforms.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders and senior management to drive success plans and KPIs at our largest customers.
  • Utilize engineering prowess and strategic observability acumen to drive adoption and expansion of existing use cases, and advise/develop additional use cases with customers.
  • Monitor customer needs, driving and recommending use case initiatives, troubleshooting, and advocating for certification and training.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively cross-functionally with Cribl sales, marketing, product, experience, and engineering teams, serving as the voice of the customer.
  • Inspire, mentor, and coach team members as an integral part of the Customer Experience organization.
  • Occasionally perform duties outside standard working hours due to the remote-first, multi-timezone nature of the company.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years in a related function with direct customer advocacy and engagement experience in post-sales.
  • Passion for customer success, an engineering-first approach, and empathy for customer outcomes and value.
  • A customer-first mindset with excellent communication and relationship management skills, capable of managing customer expectations through empathy and active listening.
  • Proven track record and experience working with large, complex enterprises and developing relationships in a high-growth environment.
  • Proven track record and experience as an engineer working with large, complex enterprises and developing relationships in a high-growth environment.
  • Experience with Observability, Logs, Metrics, IT Operations, and Security, with a deep understanding of managing data pipelines through the entire data lifecycle.
  • Proven ability to drive continuous product value by developing new use cases related to reducing, reusing, enriching, and routing data to achieve customer outcomes.
  • Quick learner with strong engineering and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed (up to 25%).
  • Enjoys talking to customers and solving problems.
  • Experience working remotely.
  • Resides in the Southeast region of the United States.

Salary Range

$110,000 - $160,000 (dependent on geographic location)
