Williams Lea seeks a Business Development Director to expand our Creative Production growth strategy. Williams Lea by RRD is the leading global provider of skilled, technology-enabled, business-critical support services, with long-term trusted relationships with blue-chip clients across investment banks, law firms and professional services firms. Williams Lea employees, nearly 7000 people worldwide, who provide efficient business services at client sites in often complex and highly regulated environments, from centralised Williams Lea onshore facilities, and through best cost company offshore locations.
Purpose of Role
The Creative Business Development Director is a dynamic and experienced, hands-on new business leader who will play a leading role in developing and executing Williams Lea’s Creative Production growth strategy as it launches its global capability in the UK and EMEA market. The goal is to drive new business partnership opportunities across brands and creative agencies and close new creative production deals. A strong commercial awareness of the benefits of a production offering is key. Your role will involve building strong relationships with prospective clients and matching Williams Lea’s production products and services to their needs. You will establish/build/maintain a pipeline of new clients and opportunities with the primary emphasis being on new logos.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Develop and implement a clear and focussed business development plan to drive growth and revenue in the production agency market
- Develop a convertible pipeline able to deliver firm sales in year 1 and beyond
- Identify new market opportunities, trends, and potential clients
- Analyse market conditions, competitive landscape, and customer needs to inform strategic decision-making.
New Business Acquisition
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, lead generation, and networking.
- Develop and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and pitches to potential clients.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop products and services tailored to the client pain points and markets.
Market Research and Analysis
- Stay up-to-date with sector and industry trends, and emerging technologies that impact the sector.
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and feasibility studies to identify market gaps and potential growth areas.
- Provide regular reports and analysis on market trends, business performance, and revenue forecasts to the senior management team.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including offshore operations, marketing, editorial, operations, and finance, to align business development strategies with overall organizational goals.
- Coordinate with marketing and communication teams to develop effective sales collateral, promotional materials, and marketing campaigns.
- Design and articulate complex business solutions into “saleable solutions” to prospective new customers.
- Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure efficient pricing, budgeting, and project management processes.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Monitor and track against set targets, providing regular progress reports to the senior management team.
- Analyze key sales metrics, revenue data, and market trends to identify areas for improvement and develop actionable insights.
- Recommend and implement strategies to optimize business development processes, enhance sales performance, and drive revenue growth.
