Position Overview

Abbott Rapid Diagnostics (ARDx) is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to join the Infectious Diseases Division in the North West UK, specifically covering the Lancashire and Cumbria area. This is a strategic sales role focused on driving the growth of Abbott Rapid Diagnostics' Point of Care (POC) solutions within NHS Hospitals, NHS Community settings, and Private Healthcare Providers.

The ID NOW™ Platform, a fast-growing molecular testing solution for conditions like COVID-19, Influenza A & B, RSV, and Strep A, is central to this role. ID NOW delivers accurate results in minutes, empowering healthcare professionals with real-time information for immediate patient management. The portfolio also includes other key products such as Binax NOW rapid antigen tests, and sexual and women's health testing.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic business plans to maximize sales and growth of the ARDx portfolio.
  • Align and partner with the Private Sector and NHS to achieve business objectives.
  • Achieve sales targets and deliver projected revenues.
  • Proactively engage with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Collaborate within a cross-functional team, including Market Access, Marketing, and Sales.
  • Provide regular and timely forecasts on performance, product demand, and expenditure.
  • Lead and initiate projects to drive business development.

Requirements

  • Degree or higher in Business, Biological Science, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in diagnostics or medical devices sales.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience of the UK healthcare industry, including NHS and private healthcare providers.
  • Proven track record of achieving profitable growth.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others and achieve results.
  • Self-starter with flexibility and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-changing and ambiguous environment.
  • Positive attitude, team player with a high level of initiative, energy, and enthusiasm.
  • Excellent organizational, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Responsible-minded with strong persuasive power.
  • Skilled and experienced negotiator.
