Position Overview

Greenbox Logistics is seeking an experienced Automation Design Engineer to lead the charge in bridging innovation, implementation, and operational performance across its automation systems. This role is crucial for managing the partnership with Symbotic, a key provider of A.I.-powered robotic technology for supply chain automation. The Automation Design Engineer will oversee innovation workstreams to accelerate implementation timelines, reduce costs, and tailor Symbotic’s systems to Greenbox’s unique operational needs, from concept through deployment.

Responsibilities

Strategic Vendor Partnership

  • Serve as Greenbox’s lead technical interface with Symbotic, managing day-to-day collaboration and long-term alignment.
  • Influence Symbotic’s roadmap to support Greenbox-specific functionality and innovation priorities.

Innovation & Optimization

  • Lead workstreams focused on reducing cost and deployment time of new automation systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance system performance, scalability, and integration speed.

Solution Design & Deployment

  • Manage the planning, design, and implementation of Greenbox-specific system enhancements.
  • Oversee end-to-end execution of all new automation deployments, ensuring alignment with operational goals and timelines.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with internal teams across operations, engineering, and construction to ensure seamless implementation and site readiness.
  • Support the evolution of existing sites by managing upgrades, enhancements, and issue resolution tied to automation systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Systems Design, or related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in automation systems, industrial engineering, or technical program management—ideally within supply chain, logistics, or warehouse automation.
  • Strong technical understanding of warehouse automation platforms (Symbotic experience a plus).
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders and external vendor relationships.
  • Track record of driving innovation, improving system efficiency, and delivering on time and budget.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.

Our Environment

  • Up to 50% of travel may be required.
  • Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed bi-weekly.
