Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a science, business, or related field, or alternatively, have up to 4 years of additional related experience. A minimum of 3 years of prior outside business-to-business sales experience is required, including a demonstrated history of success in solution-selling and managing customers within a defined sales territory. Familiarity with industrial and specialty gases, and industrial gas/welding supply sales is a plus. Knowledge of customer segmentation and the ability to prioritize customer targeting for maximum value to Airgas is also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Account Manager will be responsible for managing the sales process and driving profitable sales growth within an assigned sales territory, both for existing and new Airgas customers. This includes developing and executing sales plans, qualifying and pursuing sales leads, cultivating customer relationships through consultative engagement, preparing sales proposals, monitoring industry insights and competition, partnering with internal resources, maintaining sales reports, and reviewing/managing customer Accounts Receivable balances. The role also involves establishing and maintaining clear communication lines with internal departments and proactively identifying customer opportunities.
