Candidates must have at least 3 years of quota-carrying field experience focused on landing net-new logos, with prior experience in Big Data, Cloud, SaaS, Open Source, or Enterprise IT Solutions. Previous sales methodology training (e.g., MEDDPICC, Challenger) is required, along with a consistent track record of overachieving quota attainment. Exceptional communication, presentation, time management, and negotiation skills are essential. A BS/BA degree or equivalent is preferred, and the ability to travel to customer locations as needed is necessary.
The Account Executive will be responsible for driving revenue growth in large, diverse, and complex territories by proactively prospecting, identifying, qualifying, developing, and closing a sales pipeline. They will manage the entire sales process, collaborate with business development, customer success, and support teams, and participate in the development and presentation of value propositions. The role involves partnering with Solutions Engineers and Professional Services to ensure customer success, liaising with customer contacts to manage relationships and identify new opportunities, and understanding Confluent offerings and the competitive landscape. The Account Executive will also negotiate SaaS/cloud/software contracts and travel to customer sites when required.
