Requirements

  • Located within 60 miles of Intersect Power hubs (SF Bay Area and San Diego, CA; NYC Metro Area, NY; Denver, CO; Houston, TX; Calgary, AB; Toronto, ON)
  • Expertise as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in water and gas permitting
  • Ability to lead development activities for compliance with federal, state, and municipal regulations related to water supply, wastewater disposition, natural gas generation, and datacenter development
  • Experience in due diligence, discretionary permit processing and acquisition, and pre-construction permit implementation for natural resources, pipeline, and combustion infrastructure
  • Capability to work collaboratively across internal teams (business, finance, communications, biology, policy, real estate) and external specialties, as well as with M&A, Development, Real Estate, Engineering, Community Engagement, Government Affairs, GIS, and Construction leads
  • Skills in planning backwards from commercial delivery dates, building relationships with regulatory authorities, performing quantitative and qualitative assessments, preparing and filing permit applications, negotiating consultant and vendor contracts, developing execution strategies, and supporting operational compliance for water, wastewater, natural gas, and air quality

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and municipal environmental regulations for Intersect Power's natural gas, water, and wastewater operated assets
  • Prepare, submit, and coordinate discretionary permit applications
  • Lead development activities to secure regulatory approvals for gigawatt-scale renewable energy projects (wind, solar PV, BESS) and energy offtake projects (green fuels, datacenters)
  • Conduct due diligence, process and acquire discretionary permits, and implement pre-construction permits for natural resources, pipeline, and combustion infrastructure
  • Plan backwards from commercial delivery dates and build positive relationships with regulatory authorities
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative assessments
  • Prepare and file permit applications
  • Negotiate consultant and vendor contracts
  • Develop execution strategies
  • Support operational compliance for regulated water, wastewater, natural gas, and air quality
