Position Overview

This position will manage the Zoetis Dairy business in Iowa and Nebraska. The desired location for the position is the Sioux City, IA area. The US Cattle Business Unit is one of the largest businesses within Zoetis worldwide operations, focusing on maximizing the value of its broad veterinary and producer solutions portfolio by building and sustaining relevant partnerships with veterinarians and producer owners. This role involves deploying targeted activities to support solutions offerings and meet customer needs. The Territory Business Manager position requires managing the Zoetis Animal Health Dairy business with Distributors, Veterinarians, Dealers, and Producers within the respective territory. Understanding the Dairy market is advantageous. The position requires travel and nights away from home.

Responsibilities

• Calling on Dairy Producers, Veterinarians, Dealers, and Distributor Representatives, quantifying and qualifying differences among Zoetis products and competitor products.
• Utilizing excellent presentation skills to conduct educational training and exhibiting selling skills at accounts and producer seminars.
• Building relationships and influence within key trade channels, including veterinarians, distributors, extension, and university personnel.
• Managing a broad geographic area with a diverse customer base to achieve sales targets, increased market share, and business objectives.
• Building customer trust through reliability, credibility, and follow-up.
• Territory Planning & Priority Setting through data analysis, planning, resource utilization, and execution of business plans.
• Demonstrating Technical & Commercial Knowledge: General knowledge of the Dairy Industry, in-depth product knowledge of the Zoetis portfolio, and business & financial acumen of the local customer base.
• Exhibiting Teamwork: Sharing, collaborating, and acting as a team player.
• Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned and directed.

Education and Experience

• Undergraduate degree (BS/BA) required.
• Advanced degree in animal science, MBA, or equivalent degree is a plus.
• A minimum of 6 months of cattle-related experience is preferred for an Associate Territory Business Manager; a minimum of 3 years of cattle-related experience is preferred for a Territory Business Manager.
• Animal Health experience and knowledge of the Dairy industry are preferred.

Technical Skills Requirements

• In-depth product and disease knowledge.
• Experience with Dairy Comp and PC Dart is a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word applications.
• Ability to speak English and Spanish is a plus.

Physical Position Requirements

• The position requires a valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to drive to customer locations across the defined geography (Producer, Clinic & Dealer facilities).
• Requires the individual to be able to work on Dairy Operations.
• Requires the individual to be willing to work with cows, from husbandry to treatment administration and product administration education.
• Ability and willingness to travel overnight, including some weekends (approximately 40% travel).
