Candidates should possess over 5 years of senior-level experience in engineering, technical project management, or sales engineering, preferably within a PV and/or Utility Scale BESS environment. Proficiency in AutoCAD and an expert understanding of the project development process from design through interconnection, permitting, and construction are required. A deep understanding of project interconnection requirements, solar array layouts, single line diagrams (SLDs), module selection, string sizing, ground coverage ratio, inverter selection, power factor requirements, and cable sizing is essential. Hands-on experience in power generation, distribution, and other highly relevant industries is also necessary.
The Technical Development Manager will lead engineering oversight for C&I PV and PV+BESS projects throughout their lifecycle, acting as the Owner's representative from origination through commissioning and operations. This role involves managing engineering elements provided by EPC vendors, interfacing with third-party Owner's Engineers, reviewing design drawings, and providing RFI support. Responsibilities include conducting site inspections, providing technical expertise on interconnections and commissioning, evaluating and supporting new EPCs, and performing high-level electrical SLD and site layout reviews. The manager will also provide construction support, assist with procurement activities, manage contractual relationships with engineering contractors, and lead cost reduction efforts through design alternatives and value engineering.
