Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical and/or translational outside sales, with a proven track record of growing specific, targeted markets. A strong technical background in molecular biology, sequencing, or genomics is required, along with well-developed professional and strategic sales skills. Demonstrated ability to convert qualified leads into closed deals, excellent listening, time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills, strong negotiation skills including high-value capital equipment, and a detail- and service-oriented, team-minded approach are also necessary. Field travel of at least 50% is expected.
The Senior Territory Account Manager is responsible for achieving territory sales objectives by developing and executing strategic business plans to exceed revenue targets and grow the current customer base. This includes managing and growing key accounts with expertise, developing territory and account-specific sales plans, and executing these plans to meet assigned sales quotas. The role involves utilizing and maintaining the CRM database, engaging customers in complex sales environments, navigating multi-tiered sales processes for capital equipment, consumables, and services, and developing long-term profitable accounts through relationship building and subject matter expertise. Responsibilities also include identifying and managing high-caliber clinical and research sales opportunities, developing comprehensive knowledge of prospects through account mapping, preparing and presenting technical sales presentations, and coordinating sales activities with supervisors and internal stakeholders. The role requires managing account/contact details in the CRM, leveraging it to grow sales and expand the customer base, providing accurate sales forecast updates, building and managing a sales pipeline, and satisfying all product and technology training requirements.
