Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genomics, Cancer Biology, Genetics, or an equivalent field, along with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. A strong scientific background in oncology, including diagnostics and therapeutics, is required, with specific experience in ctDNA being preferred. Knowledge of cancer biology, molecular perspectives, and basic bioinformatics and genomics sequencing analysis techniques is necessary. Familiarity with data mining and statistical analysis tools like R, SQL, or Stata is a plus. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential for cross-functional teamwork.
The Translational Medical Scientist will collaborate with clinicians, product managers, and key opinion leaders to translate product requirements into technical specifications for oncology products utilizing circulating tumor DNA. They will partner with molecular biologists, computational biologists, and statisticians to develop research strategies, and work with various departments to draft contracts and execute research projects. Responsibilities include performing genomic analysis to address scientific and clinical questions in oncology, translating findings to impact patient care, and leading internal efforts in oncology knowledge management. The role involves collaborating with external partners, including academics, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical companies, and communicating research results to academic researchers for publication in high-impact journals. Additionally, the scientist will work with business and biological teams to understand the research landscape and technology options.
