A Bachelor's degree in international business, Supply Chain Management, procurement, or a related field is required, along with 5-7 years of experience in trade compliance or customs with a focus on US regulations. Strong knowledge of country-of-origin determination regulations, HTSUS classification, and international trade laws is essential. Demonstrated ability to analyze supplier operations and supply chain structures, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication and people skills, and proficiency in trade compliance software are also necessary. Experience in a multinational corporation or consulting firm is preferred, and professional certification in trade compliance is a plus.
The Senior Trade Compliance Specialist will ensure adherence to global import and export regulations, analyze supplier manufacturing processes and supply chains to determine country of origin according to CBP regulations, and conduct assessments of component origins, value-add, and assembly operations. They will maintain documentation supporting origin determinations, advise procurement and sourcing teams on trade compliance risks and opportunities, and collaborate with legal and compliance teams on CBP inquiries and audits. The role also involves conducting regular audits to ensure compliance standards, structuring sourcing agreements to align with compliance requirements, and supporting other departmental compliance activities.
