Requirements

Candidates must possess a life sciences background, with experience selling technology, medical devices, or capex, and be familiar with public tenders and clinical environments. Proven experience as a dynamic sales leader with a structured approach, sales and people management experience, sales force experience, and accurate forecasting abilities is required. A Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related subject area is necessary, along with significant sales and sales management experience in the Life Science industry. The ability to build relationships at all organizational levels and effectively communicate and influence both internal and external audiences using oral and written skills is essential.

Responsibilities

The Senior Sales Manager will lead the execution of commercial strategies in Italy, ensuring budgeted annual sales and profit objectives are met within designated territories and for the district overall. Key responsibilities include developing, implementing, and monitoring the district business plan, providing direction, support, and motivation to the district sales team to meet agreed targets. The role involves establishing territory quotas, achieving quarterly and annual sales and profit plans, and routinely forecasting, monitoring, and controlling selling and other expenses within assigned budgets. Ensuring accurate forecasting of customer demand, managing sales staff performance, and providing timely development plans for underperforming employees are crucial. The manager will also be responsible for ensuring Illumina's commitment to customer satisfaction is consistently performed, delivered, and improved, as well as talent acquisition, development, and performance management.
