The Role: Senior Learning Designer

The Senior Learning Designer is responsible for creating strategic, high-impact learning experiences that enhance performance and align with Angi’s evolving business needs. This role requires advanced instructional design expertise, project leadership, and mentorship to improve the quality and efficiency of Angi’s learning programs. The ideal candidate will develop innovative, scalable learning strategies for diverse learner personas and create cutting-edge modalities to drive business results, acting as a strategic thought partner with a learner-first mindset.

Responsibilities

Learning Design & Optimization:

  • Lead the design and development of innovative, scalable learning solutions tailored for various roles and needs at Angi.
  • Develop cutting-edge learning modalities, including e-learning, instructor-led training, in-product learning, and just-in-time solutions, based on adult learning principles and optimized for performance.
  • Create comprehensive evaluation strategies to measure learning effectiveness and its impact on business outcomes.
  • Translate complex business information into digestible, high-impact learning content in collaboration with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams.
  • Implement continuous improvement loops using learner feedback, business metrics, and performance data to refine learning content and approaches.

Collaboration & Team Enablement:

  • Collaborate cross-functionally as a strategic thought partner to ensure learning initiatives align with critical business priorities.
  • Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert on learning design standards, advanced authoring tools, and design best practices.
  • Guide and support the designer team in developing foundational skills and enhancing their instructional design capabilities.
  • Develop and champion scalable tools, frameworks, and templates to ensure consistency, efficiency, and a world-class learning experience across Angi.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in instructional design, learning and development, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of designing scalable, innovative learning solutions that drive measurable business impact.
  • Deep expertise in adult learning theory, instructional design best practices, and various learning modalities.
  • Proficiency with learning technologies and authoring tools.
  • Experience mentoring and upskilling other designers, with strong leadership and coaching capabilities.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively across teams and influence stakeholders.
